Just curious... Anyone else on the list familiar with the Parrot VM?:

Interesting features:

1) Register-based
2) Designed to support dynamic languages
3) Designed to support functional programming language features
4) Around 3 dozen languages have been implemented on top of it (with
varying levels of completeness), including Perl6, Python, and Scheme.
5) Comes with its own assembly language (Parrot Assembly Language)
which compiles down to bytecode.

Today I installed rakudo, the Perl6 implementation, on my Debian
Wheezy system.
