[aklug] Perl - Functional Programming Language?

Curious, any Perl gurus left on the list?

I was refreshing my Perl skills to write a small script I needed, when
I came across this:

Apparently, somebody wrote a 500 page book on how you can use Perl to
do advanced higher-order functional programming. After reading the
table of contents, I practically drooled on my keyboard. :)
