Just keep it clear that Android != Gnu/Linux. They share a few common
components, but that is all. They both use the Linux kernel, but the
Android version is significantly divergent from the official one. Most
everything outside the kernel is not Gnu sources either, from what I
hear, but custom stuff coded by google, and does not provide the a
full Gnu-compatible interface. What especially characterizes Android
is its (*bleck*) Java-based interface.

I'd give more specific examples but I'm not able to get the source

 from the repo. Keep getting fetch errors.
