Okay, I now it is 12:30 in the morning in nobody cares... but if you are
reading this message it means that I finally got SMTP AUTH configured
correctly (and securely, I hope). I'm using
postfix-smtpd/cyrus-sasl/saslauthd/pam.
One point that had me confused for quite awhile: All the examples in the
old books/tutorials show postfix announcing available AUTH methods the
moment you connect and EHLO. But apparently now you have to STARTTLS
first /before/ it'll tell you what AUTH methods are available.
