Installed schism with plugins on Ubuntu Maverick 10.10 updated 122010
It appears very near IT which I vaguely remember using in the 90s
I grabbed it from the Launchpad site.

The plugins were part of the software manager layout.

Of course the Ubuntu Studio, GNU Musix, ArtisX Live/install distros can give you months
(or years) of tweaking.

I have tried a few over time but never really had the right hardware to do them justice.

"Back in the day" there was Impulse Tracker.... amazing software.

Nowadays there are a few clones and similar programs out there:

Impulse Tracker (IT) was the heart of what was referred to as "The Mod
Scene" back in the 90s.
