It sounds like there was more than one person involved with OpenBSD at that time with the same name as one of the accused.

They got ahold of one person by that name and someone else. They both seem to be denying any participation. I noticed they didn't deny knowledge though. I don't know if that's significant or not.

The original article I saw on IT World also stated it being unknown if the allegedly compromised was still in use or not.

I just read something on SANS about this. The short post said it was
based on old code for IPSec. This doesn't mean the hole is still
there. If there ever was a hole.
