Alpine is just awesome! It cuts a lot of the cruft (i.e. hyperlinked this
or that) and displays them as text. For those old timers, it's nothing
new. Never realized how much a client like Thunderbird or even the web
browser kind of took away from that by hiding these things. And alpine
just starts right up and shuts down just as fast on my trusty P4-m. A side
note-need to find where it was automagically configured to open links up
in Dillo. Like Dillo a lot (thought it was an abandoned project) but would
rather browse in Links or something like that. :)

After I configure alpine to my liking-been working on irssi to talk to
google talk. My gal and I stay in touch during the day by dropping each
other a chat. A promising route is to use bitlbee, which acts like a irc
gateway. More to follow. B
