I gave Gnash a try last year. It took an extremely long time to
compile. You'd think I was building X or something. When I tried
to use it, it took a long time to start up, and hardly handled
anything I threw at it.

I'm glad someone's working on an open-source alternative, but
they'll need to keep working for a while before it's anything
remotely resembling a replacement for Flash.

Sorry if I sound bitter. Maybe someone on the list has had
better luck with it?
