Multiple cities have submitted, but I doubt it will happen. I figure
Google will go for an area with the greatest cost/bene, greatest # of
drops per fiber mile. Anywhere up here is low density, fewer homes
serviced per $.

Longhaul is viable though, there are at least 4 WDMish undersea cabled
capable of OC192 (10gig) per wavelength. *If* they chose Anchorage a
20Gbit or even 40Gbit feed split over multiple fiber systems would be
possible, though not cheap.
