[aklug] Re: ACS Android

The question I would have regarding the Nexus One is "Which 3G network are you using the phone on, if any?" I like the Nexus One, and similarly the Nokia N900, but have been hesitant to go out and get one since a smart phone with 3G but without the network to support it is just not worth it to me. Are you using ACS, GCI, AT&T, etc?

Thanks!

Interesting...

It looks like both ACS and GCI are retailing the Hero

I'm also guessing that the ACS phone (like GCI's) is a CDMA version, based
on the coverage map.

So, buy based on the service plan you like, from the carrier you like.

Caveat:

I bought a Nexus One (Google-phone) for my wife and I. I prefer to own
outright, and when Linus Torvalds says "it's the first phone I don't hate..=
"
well, that's like a blessing for me.

And I never liked the iPhone.

Plus, yeah, I don't hate it. It's a great fast phone.
The next HTC to come out is the Desire, and that's nearly the same phone
as the Nexus One, but I don't know the US release date.

The Android 2.1 platform is really nice, though. I recommend it.
