On a number of occasions in the past I thought about posting, but the
subject matter just seemed to insignificant or silly. I hate annoying
people who probably already have overflowing inboxes.

So, to put it this way: How strictly "on topic" do our posts need to be?
And what constitutes "on topic?" For example, is this list supposed to
be strictly Linux support questions? Are random thoughts about
technology, programming, etc. also welcome? How far afield can we go
before annoying other list members?

Maybe some discussion about this subject, or guidelines from the list
moderators, would help with posting confidence.
