short answer ... yes. But it 'just works' so I am far from 'knowing' all
the functions, which are more numerous than before. Oh, there is a pretty
splash screen now :-)
I used it on a dual boot of Debian Stable and a partion running Debian
Testing, Testing has grub 2. Grub 2 is 'grub-pc' in Debians naming
scheme. In Debian 'os-prober' is not a depends, it will not automagically
get installed when you install 'grub-pc' . On my box this manifested by
not including some entries in grub.cfg, which by the way
replaces 'menu.list in ~/grub.
so : install 'grub-pc', 'os-prober'
