Hey, I just set up a new server, with LVM. Just realized I am one
logical volume short. The man page for lvcreate is a bit complex...
could someone tell me how I should do this without blowing my hard drive
up? I would appreciate your help.

I'll give more specific details if you need them. I've used a GUI LVM
manager in the past, but I would prefer to learn how to create and mount
this from the command-line. I'll modify any specific examples you give
me to the correct lv size and mount point.
