I've always used Emacs, but I'm trying to give Vim a fair try. I just
took a small class from a guy who showed us how use the basic commands,
but he doesn't seem to know much about the programming side of things.

Any tips for a guy who does a lot of C/C++ programming? I installed
vim-nox (I hate graphical editors...) on my Debian laptop. Here's what
I've figured out so far:

- - I got syntax coloring with the ':syntax enable' command.
- - I got automatic indenting with the ':set cindent' command, though this
seems to work differently than it does in Emacs. In Emacs I could press
'tab', and it would rearrange a line whose indenting was off.
- - I got line numbering with the ':set nu' command.

That's about it so far. Any further tips would be appreciated. Also,
somebody once told me Vim has some kind bracket-folding system, though
perhaps I misunderstood him.
