I was caught up in the RegisterFly debacle of 2006/2007. You can read
all about it here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RegisterFly - $7.99 -
$9.99/year for a domain was very attractive. I had about a dozen domains
in limbo when all the legal trouble began. I didn't know about what was
happening when I tried to renew a domain 2 weeks before it would expire
and it eventually ended up expiring (via eNom) even though I paid RegFly
for the renewal. While waiting on hold to talk to someone at RegFly and
searching the google net to find like situations I ran across
RegisterFlies.com (an anti-fan site setup by jaded regfly customers). I
found a contact at eNom that was able to take my domains from RegFly and
move them to an eNom account for me. eNom also honored the $9/year
register/renewal for all the displaced RegFly customers.
