[aklug] converting a text file (of hex) to binary

Hey folks,
I've got a string of hex data that I need to send to a device. Problem is that the file with the hex data is really a text file, and I need to send binary data.
How do I convert my text file of hexadecimal characters to a raw binary file.

This can't be that difficult, so I must be looking in the wrong places. Help!
