[aklug] DNS and You (GCI customers)

  In talking with Mike, it sounds like some people are getting their DNS
configuration from the WHOIS server.

--Unfortunately-- WHOIS is incorrect for -your- utiliztion.

"Customer CNS* access should use the 209.165.131.12 and 209.165.131.13
addresses to ensure full DNS load balancing. "

*CNS - Caching Name Server - authoritative, forwarding, caching.

This would be what you would get via DHCP assignment as well. =20

If you run your own DNS, and point to GCI's as forwarders (which,
really, why?) then these would also be the addresses to use.
