I was doing more speed tests with http://www.speedtest.gci.net. It's all
going through my new firewall. I found out I have a slow or bad network
card.
* From my workstation I get about 2 Megabits down
* From my laptop I get 10 Megabits down
* Switched to the on-board network card on my workstation
o I get between 8 and 10 Megabits down
* Always get about 1 Megabit up
Here's what I have for network cards on my workstation.
04:00.0 Ethernet controller: Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88E8050
PCI-E ASF Gigabit Ethernet Controller (rev 17)
06:00.0 FireWire (IEEE 1394): VIA Technologies, Inc. IEEE 1394 Host
Controller (rev 46)
06:01.0 Ethernet controller: ADMtek NC100 Network Everywhere Fast
Ethernet 10/100 (rev 11)
Maybe my old firewall isn't slow after all. It's not online so I can't
test it.
