Cool lilo tip

I found this cool trick for those of us using the lilo bootloader and
thought I'd share. :)

"If you are installing and testing the kernel remotely, you can instead
specify to LiLO that the new kernel is loaded only for the next boot by
using the following syntax:"

$ /sbin/lilo -R test-2.6.0

The 'test-2.6.0' is the 'label' of the kernel in your lilo.conf. Of
course, you still need to have your known working configuration stanza
in lilo.conf for this to fall back on if it fails.
