data collection programming help.

I have a project where I want to monitor and record pH and ORP
(oxidation-reduction potential) of a solution over a period of
weeks. What I have in mind is to plug the probes into a couple of
phidgets (http://www.phidgets.com/products.php?product_id=1058), and
plug the phidgets into a USB hub, which is then plugged into one of
the USBs port of a norhtec computer
(http://www.norhtec.com/products/mcjr/details.html). The computer
will have wifi and run a tiny footprint linux (puppy?) booting from a
compact flash.

The phidgets come with a variety of API's including C/C++, java and a
bunch of source code for linux. (available for download at
http://www.phidgets.com/downloads_sections.php)

Basically, what I want to do is take a reading from each probe at
some (user adjustable) interval and write it (with time/date stamp)
to a csv format file. Then I want to be able to access that file from
a remote computer via wifi (or via usb memory stick).

I know just enough about this stuff to get started, and then
(usually) to get stuck and yell for help. Before I dive in to the
deep end with this, are there people in the group who can help with
the programming?

Thanks,

Bob Crosby
