I've been thinking about this for some time and have decided to start
sending e-mails regarding LDAP configuration.
LDAP is used at almost all ISP's and can also be used when configuring
a small business for authorization and authentication.
It's best when used as a read many, write few, types of application.
Some examples of this might be authentication, a phone book, group
access, mailling lists, etc.
I found a reference that seems thorough and will be using it as a
reference point.

Of course we have access to the entire internet, so should limit
ourselves to just this one resource. I haven't read it completely, so
it may turn out to be junk.
We will see.
If you'd like to follow along, I'm going to try and post something new
every week and welcome private e-mail as well as mail to the list.
Be aware though. If you send mail directly to me I will answer to the
list, but I'll remove references to the question asker unless the asker
says it's OK.
Of course if it's OK for me to use your name, you should just send a
message to the list. :)
I'd expect that you'd have your own ldap server already setup. Of the
distributions I have used, most of them configure some sort of working
setup.
If you have questions about getting the server working, please post to
the list so we can all work through whatever problems you run into.
