I agree Dan. However, I would would want to carefully consider what
services we would want to spend time managing.

There are enough free services available (sourceforge, etc), that I'm
not sure I immediately see the need for AKLUG to start at this time to
support development and the responsibilities of hosting such services.

I'd like to see more participation from the group, with regard to
responsibilities that are being taken on. For example, someone
stepping up to do the presentation for this month.

We have only a few members that have been willing to make rather large
time commitments. However, I am encouraged lately, because that seems
to be changing.

In case you weren't aware, AKLUG owns some hardware that was generously
donated by several key individuals and as you have seen on the list,
Dee provides bandwidth for that particular server. Currently this is
our FTP server.

Additionally, one of our members, Graham Brookins, provides us hosting
service for our current web server.

And lastly, UAA is managing the mail list.

As you can see, it's a community effort. :)
