yesterday Synaptic told me there were updates, so i updated, one of the
updates was a new kernal image.
i just tried to boot and i cant.
when i get the normal OS selection screen in b/w there is a new kernel
option listed, as expected due to the update.
but when i try to boot from ANY of the kernel options i get
booting ubuntu kernel XX_XX_XX
root (hd0,1)
fs type unknown, partition type ox82
kernel /boot/vmlinuxXX_XX_XX root=/dev/hda2 ro quiet splash

error 17: cannot mount partition

any key...

i have tried a few other partition numbers, but i cant get any to work
suggestions please??
