RE: MythTV + pchdtv 5500 + GCI Digital Cable == Need some help

I did some looking around on gci.com and found that the channels that I'm
able to tune in are from GCI's Basic Service. While the channels I would
like to tune in, and I'm able to on my GCI DVR are under the Preferred
Service.

I would really like to be able to tune in the Preferred Service channels on
my MythTV backend with either my pchdtv 5500 or my Hauppauge PVR-250.

Subject: MythTV + pchdtv 5500 + GCI Digital Cable == Need some help

This last weekend I finally received a pair of pchdtv's 5500 HDTV PCI cards
and installed only one into my MythTV box. My goal was to be able to get
ride of my GCI cable box for watching digital cable and instead use a MythTV
backend and frontend.

I was able to use the analog mode of the pchdtv card to locate several;
about 10, channels but these seem to be (ABC, NBC, CPAN, etc). I've not been
able to get anymore than that. I also tried the DVB mode with limited
success.

I also have a Hauppauge PVR-250 that I used while in Corvallis, OR; it
worked great down there. I used the PVR-250 and it picked up the same few
channels as the pchdtv card.

The last time I was at a lug meeting, someone was talking about how they had
setup a MythTV box with some pchdtv cards and got all the "digital package"
channels. I'm hoping that all of you might be able to point me in the
correct direction.

I'm currently running Fedora Core 5 with the latest updates on my MythTV
backend. Any help or suggested direction would be a great help.

Thanks,
Sean P. Jensen
