Greetings all,

Jim Gribbin sent me the digital photographs he took last night of what
is the first demonstration in Anchorage, Alaska, and even the Universe
for by, of the Penguin Protocol (PuP - PgP, PnP and PoP are already
taken and I don't like PeP of PiP) (also known as the Secret Penguin
Handshake - I suppose we could use SPHP but this is somewhat redundant
without being re-entrant) used by two Gnu/Linux users when they meet,
greet, and eat. Of course it may be used on other occasions both
auspicious and inauspicious.

As all are aware, I trust, this list server is set to strip attachments,
so I propose we put what we have (three photos) on the net at a suitable
location. Perhaps the AKLUG WiKi is the best place. I am a raw newbie at
WiKi's so I can't render an opinion. The protocol is under GPLv2 of
course, so others may contribute and improve the code base.

It appears that I am the self appointed chief developer of the PuP (easy
to type by the way), so I will undertake to fix up the documentation and
even prepare a deb. Others will be able to prepare a rpm, tar, etc. for
wide distribution.

As a point of on going development, I hope that AKLUG can prepare a
video. It would be great to have it available for the IT Expo, and of
course, it should be on the AKLUG server.
