My 17 year-old says to check two things:
        1) are there more than 3 sets of revision digits?
        2) are you looking at bleeding edge stuff?

Check your /etc/apt/sources.list for suse-people and also suse-projects
You may-ormay-not want to draw from them :-))

My son uses SuperSuSE, and tries all the bleeding edge stuff.
He has me about convinced that it is maybe the easiest way to go.
The trick is to know what stuff exists in different source groupings.
