I've been pretty happy with my Compaq Armada E500. They were put out for
several years and are a available with a variety of processors. I've
seen them with PII 333 up to PIII 1GHz. Alsa was a minor trick, but
everything seems to be working now, even the modem. Its a little heavier
to pack around than some, but seems to take being packed around on a
daily basis than many I've seen.
The only other laptop I've seen around FriLinux that I've been impressed
with is Wadell's IBM.
