f you are just trying to run one program, full screen, then you don't
even need a windowmanager... you just start the X server (i.e. 'X',
not 'startx') and then spawn your program, possibly passing it
geometry options to maximize it.
the easiest way would be to modify/create an .xinitrc file to just
spawn your program
