So, I guess we weren't the only ones trying to figure that out.

BTW- I wasn't too impressed with Suse 9.3, at least not as an upgrade. In
addition to the no "shutdown" choice, it also didn't want to let me change to
the Gnome or Icewm desktops even though they were installed. While Yast would
let me choose "gdm" as my login manager, it didn't exist on my laptop and I
couldn't find it on the web.

I probably could have fixed it eventually, but I didn't feel like spending 3
days troubleshooting it and changed it back to NLD. I find it's a nice,
relatively lightweight, desktop distro (works well with gnome). Their "Pro"
series seems to be too much of a distro for building a server or a
development workstation (to much junk I don't need). The only issue I'd had
with NLD was sound and that turned out to more of a hardware issue with my
laptop than with SuSe. I think the fix for it would have been pretty much the
same under any distro.

While we're on the subject, do you remember the website of that guy you
mentioned that spent all that time fixing gnome under Suse 9.2. There's some
stuff I'd like to check out, and at this point, there's NO WAY I'm going to
upgrade my workstation at the office.
