I managed to break GTK (a long story involving airhammers and cutting torch=
es)=20
and have been trying to install the latest version. I installed Glib 2.6.2=

and, after a brief struggle with LD_LIBRARY_PATH, managed to get Pango to=20
configure without errors. However, when it comes to compile time, the=20
compilation terminates with this:

After googling a bit, I found references to this issue that pointed to the=
=20
cause as being outdated freetype libs. However, I have the latest versions =
of=20
freetype and freetype2 installed and they are the only ones I have. If any =
of=20
you could offer some suggestions as to the problem and a possible solution,=
 I=20
would appreciate it. I am using Slack 10 with kernel 2.6.10. Thanks,
