Well, I disabled video mode selection and that seemed to have taken care
of it, though I am still not sure why it was misbehaving. I checked
again to confirm that framebuffers were disabled, no /proc or /dev
entries were present The only setting that I had changed initially was
high mem support. Well, it worked, so I guess that's enough for now,
though I would really like to know what was causing the problem. Thanks
for the input.
