The Why of Linux

I am putting together a list of reasons why someone might use Linux. I
am starting with this one and would like to see what others think. Add

- Because it is designed by people who are solving a personal problem.
- There are many eyes (and potential developers)
- Updates are released frequently (you don't HAVE to participate)
- Because your good ideas might actually get implemented
- ideas come from everywhere
- Support is more readily available, because anyone who uses the product
has access.
- Start-up and maintenance costs can be reduced.
- Pick and choose the parts you want to implement.
