I was told that there was a version of knoppix with distcc. For those of
you who don't know what distcc is go to http://distcc.samba.org/

The short story is that distcc lets you creat a cluster of gcc machines.
All the computers in the cluster help compile stuff.

I tested it out on two P4 systems. With out distcc it took about 10
minutes to compile kernel 2.6.8.1. With distcc it took about half the
time.

The knoppix version with distcc can be found at
http://opendoorsoftware.com/cgi/http.pl?p=distccKNOPPIX

Now all I need to do is find more stuff to compile.
