Re: Office Max $19 Microsoft adaptors

For those who were following this (if anyone) I finally got my card to
work correctly in RH9. First, I just had to add an entry for it in
/etc/pcmcia/config stating that the manufacturer id was and what module
to load for it. That worked fine, except the module v. 0.11 has
problems under a heavy load. Trying to transfer any large files over the
LAN caused to card to stop responding. Upgrading to the latest 2.4.26
kernel which includes the module v. 0.13d fixed this. Lastly,
/etc/init.d/pcmcia was trying to load pcmcia_core.o instead of just
pcmcia_core without the .o, so it wouldn't load the proper PCMCIA
drivers at startup. I'm not exactly sure what changed, I'm guessing
just using a straight kernel instead of Redhat's kernel changed
something. But, just taking out the .o fixed this.

Oh, and I got WEP working just fine, using Redhat's graphical network
config tool. And of course, now that it's set up via that, I can tell
where I would've had to edit to do it manually. I hate having to rely on
graphical tools :P
