Anyone see the new ACS wireless data options?

TCP/IP connection... Speeds of 50Kbps - 2.4Mbps depending on distance from
cell tower... $450 for the hardware with 1 year contract, $400 w/ 2 year.
Monthly fee of $40 for 20MB of transfer (yes, twenty megs), $60 for 40MB,
or $100 for "unlimited". One wonders though how much "unlimited" really
is if you tried to pull a distro ISO or two.

They only advertise/support the hardware on MS systems, however a google
of the hardware shows a few steps on how to make it work under *nix.
Basically the PC Card has a built in 16550 UART, so you just need to
configure your OS to use the card as a regular COM port, then connect via
pppd.
