Re: Spam/Virus Issues

I have implemented this setup with Postfix & Amavis-new (ClamAV &
SpamAssassin plugins). The box is merely a SMTP "gateway" into my
Intranet - the box scans the incoming emails for spam/viri and forwards
it on to a different smtp qmail box for LDA processing. I am not a
linux professional at all, and I found the process fairly easy. I am
currently experimenting with substituting SpamAssassin with DSPAM, and
- so far - with fairly positive results. As soon as I settle in with
either SA or DSPAM, I plan on implementing a LDAP/MySQL backend for
simplified user administration, whitelists, blacklists, etc... Set
some cron jobs to automatically update ClamAV, mail out mail summeries
to postmaster, page via text message if something fails..... Once that
is done it should not be that hard to either find some existing scripts
or whip some PHP together to interface with everything, and I believe
I'll have (basically) the same setup, all for free.
