pop3 vs imap

It should be fairly straight forward:

in the /etc/xinetd.d/ directory there should be several files named
imap, pop3, etc.

edit the imap and pop3 files and change the entry that says:

disable = yes

# disables the service

to

disable = no

# enables the service

then restart the xinetd service like this:

service xinetd restart
