Win XP?

I have a WinXp partion on my laptop, came with the laptop, along with my
Debian install. I am geting some suspicious errors concering disk I/O
and the EXT3 Journal. This is on a new replament hd. I am wondering if
WinXP does any file system checking that could corrupt a Ext3 partition
and if there is a way to turn off disk checking in XP.
