hello aklugers --
i have a sony viao laptop, and i think one of the fans is dead or dying. The
cpu temperature hovers around 75 C in normal use, and during a compile goes
past 85 C. i've tweaked the apci trip-points to keep it running during
normal operation, but i've all but stopped pushing the processor for any
length of time.
my question is: does anyone know of or have experience with a repair shop in
anchorage that can handle laptop fan replacement? other options?
(the laptop is under still under warrentee, but i don't want to pay for
shipping to and from california, and i'd like to have quieter replacement
fans if i can get them).
thanks in advance.
