Greetings all,
I just picked up the mail from the AKLUG PO Box 240893.
The only item of real interest is a package from O'Reilly. It contained
complimentary copies of "Running Linux, 4th Edition" and "Linux Server
Hacks."
I was planning to bring them to tonight's meeting, but (in light of
Jon's situation) I will hold until next week.
I have a renewed interest in servers (GNU/Debian/Linux) since I dropped
DSL to save money (my retirement income just does not support such a
lavish life style =:-)}}} So, I have done what I have wanted to do ever
since I got DSL running on my workstation.
I took the box I had set up at Mabel T.'s to route a dial-in connection
to the LAN (four workstations and an intranet server). It got trashed
somehow, so I brought it to a Friday Lab Session but was unable to
effect repairs. I did a clean "Woody" v3.0r1 installation, set up ppp
and shorewall (The Shoreline Firewall). I would like to move the email
and dns services to this box also (I have three workstations and one and
one-half laptops =;-)}}}
So, I am willing to do a review of the "Linux Server Hacks" assuming
there are no prior claims.
