I'm trying to get an xbox to 'play nice' with linux.

To start I need a usb pen type memory and a game called 'mech
assault' for xbox.

Neither my usb memory pen nor card reader work.

If someone has these and could loan them to me for a few
days, or help with the project I'll report the results.
Hauling things to Fridays meeting isn't handy since a TV is
also required.

These are the devices that the xbox-linux site says work.
I don't want to borrow a camera or expensive device. A usb
pen memory unit is what is needed.

Actually, it does work. But the default state of the
ROM controller forces security
partitions to exist which spoil compatibility. Delete
all partitions with Linux fdisk.
Create one big new one. Format it (FAT) in Windows.
Insert it in the Xbox running the
MS Dashboard. It will now be recognized and
formatted FATX. (sdoradus)
