I had the occasion to configure a laptop to talk with a Cisco router.
At first, I couldn't get it to work using minicom...then after issuing
these commands it started to work:

stty -F /dev/ttyS0 ispeed 9600
stty -F /dev/ttyS0 ospeed 9600

What I don't get is that after doing this and I power off the machine,
it continues to work.

Are these settings getting saved somewhere?

I am glad it finally works, but don't like wondering if it will stop
working sometime in the future and I won't remember what I did to fix
it.

Anyone have any ideas?

Mike
