Sure, check out the tapeless backup option.

Do you know how to configure Amanda for tapes? If so, just set it up
that way, but use chg-multi for your tape changer (tpchanger option in
amanda.conf) and add lines similar to this to your chg-multi.conf file:

slot 1 file:/mnt/zip/tape1
slot 2 file:/mnt/zip/tape2
slot 3 file:/mnt/zip/tape3
slot 4 file:/mnt/zip/tape4
slot 5 file:/mnt/zip/tape5

Create a filesystem on each zip disk, and make a directory on each, such
as 'tapeX' or 'backupX' or whatever.

Mount each zip disk and use 'amlabel' just like you would a tape:
amlabel <config> 'tapeX'

Then just mount each the required zip disk before running 'amdump'

It's very slick actually. Much easier to configure in the newest
version than in the older ones.
