It seems that there are a few people on the list that are running their
own mail server. I know a few people have been pushing Qmail but the
other option is Postfix.

Why Postfix? Well, all you need to do is install it, configure the
domain it excepts mail for and your done.

You can setup spam filters just like you do in Qmail. You can also setup
virtual accounts like Qmail.

Virtual accounts are nice but if you only have a small number of users
why bother. If your the sys admin you are only creating more work for
your self.

Another tip to setting up a mail server or any other server is webmin. I
see a lot of people configuring servers from the command line. That's
good practice but why do that when you can install webmin and point and
click your way to a server in a mater of minutes instead of hours.

I've managed Postfix on Linux and FreeBSD with out any problems.
