siz of /var

I just reinstalled Debian on my laptop. I'm trying to save my self some
space by squeezing it onto the smallest amount of space I can. I think I
may have made a mistake by giving /var 150mb. After setting up Debian
the way I like it /var only has 35mb left.

Using apt to install software has used up most of the 35mb left in /var.
I have been using "apt-get clean" to get back the 35mb. If logs etc..
take up more then a few mb of space I may not be able to install
software using apt.

I'm wondering if I can leave things the way they are or should I
reinstall and give /var more space?

I'm hoping I don't have to reinstall everything.
