I asked this very same question about six months ago. Someone pointed me to
a website were I purchased the adapter for about $4+$3.50 shipping. I
believe frigid north wanted $17 bucks. It arrived in the mail three days
later...

Hey all. Does anyone know someplace in town I can find a converter to
connect a 48 pin laptop hard drive to a standard IDE desktop controller?
   I'm looking for both the cable, and something where I could mount the
laptop hd in a standard 3 1/2 or 5 1/4 inch bay?
