Hello all...

I have a RedHat 8.0 system and I'm trying to set it up as a webmail server using Squirrelmail. I have installed Apache and Squirrelmail directly from the installation CD's, but I can't seem to get squirrelmail working. Here's what I type in for a URL:

http://localhost/webmail

From this, I get a dialog box saying "www._default_.com could not be found. Please check the name and try again."

I have looked at the appropriate 'config' files for squirrelmail and apache, but I can't seem to locate the problem.

BTW, this is my first attempt at setting up a WEB server, or a mail server, or a webmail server... It is very possible that I am missing something very basic here.

Anyhow, if anyone has experience getting squirrelmail set up and running I would be grateful to hear how they did it.

Thanks in advance.

Blair Parker
