September Meeting

Subject: September Meeting
From: Juneau Linux Users Group (info@juneau-lug.org)
Date: Wed Sep 25 2002 - 14:48:46 AKDT

Meeting reminder: The September Juneau Linux Users Group meeting will be
held 5:30PM, Friday September 27 2002 at the Mendenhall Library conference
room.

This month's meeting will be in a clinic format. A network will be built
with a DHCP/dynamic DNS server on one end, and an Apache server with
virtual hosts on the other. One or two new members may bring machines to
install a distribution on. There will be 'extra' machines to play with or
do other projects on.

James Zuelow will bring both server machines, content for the Apache
virtual hosts, two client machines (headless), the hub, and several patch
cables. Needed will be two monitors for the client machines if anyone
wants to use them for learning or to assist in setting up the servers via
OpenSSH.

Debian 3.0 (i386 complete, PowerPC & HP pa-risc net-install) will be
available - JLUG members are encouraged to bring installation media for
other distributions, as we do not have any bandwidth at the library. A CD
burner may be available.

Questions should be posted to the JLUG mailing list!
