Subject: extracting data from html files

I have a bunch of text files I want to extract a piece of information from,
do some data mining. Seems like a good opportunity to learn something about
scripting, while I'm at it.
What I'd like to do is step through each file searching for a particular
string, then whenever a match is found, write the remainder of the line
where it is found, to another file.
