Friend of Buddha's here, he turned me on to this list.
Been reading it for about 2 weeks now, and haven't seen
anything similar to the problem I'm having, sooo...

<rant>
Here I am, feeling really cool about getting IMP/TURBA/MySQL
installed and working in one go. I've got fetchmail grabbing
from my 3 popmail accounts, it passes to exim, exim puts it
into the spool, and IMP filters the messages out to the
various mailboxes. I'm using the standard UNIX mailbox format.

Now, the point of this was to use IMP while I'm in that great
big WAN in the sky, and mutt/IMP (depending on my mood that
day) while checking from inside my LAN.

This, as they say, should be done now, right? Wrong.

Next thing you know, I've got some mailboxes showing 10 messages
in mutt, and 7 in IMP. Also, I've got a few mailboxes that show
up as ONE message in IMP?!?!? In the latter case, the Subject of
that one message is the full path name of the mailbox file.

So, I do some research, and start to realize that while I had
IMP setup to access all the mailboxes through IMAP, mutt was
still accessing everything directly. DOH!

So, now I've got mutt accessing my mailboxes through IMAP, and
IMP always was. I believe that the package imap-utils has progs
that will allow me to convert/rebuild mailbox files, but that
requires a file called: 'libc-client.so'. I've done a bit of
searching, and (so far) haven't been able to find anything that
will provide that particular file.

I'm at a bit of an impasse, here, as I don't want to call my
mail setup 'stable' until I get the mailboxes fixed.

Any suggestions as to where to go from here?

Oh, and it's a RedHat 7.2 based system. If anyone wants more info
on my config, etc., let me know, and I'll shoot it to the list.
Also, if anyone sees anything that I did wrong, let me know. I'm
sure that'll be what the problem is anyway. ;]
</rant>

Regards,

  dave
